Ever since I have heard of this term 'Artificial Intelligence' (AI), it has probed me to take an effort to understand it and sharing this interesting concept has driven me to write about it.
Let us start right from the basic of what AI means. - It is basically a science as well as art of creating intelligent mechanism, with special reference to computer programs.
I say its science as it synchronizes computer with human intelligence i.e. machines to understand human intelligence.
The reason I say it’s an art as not just different living beings have different level of intelligence, but some machines too. One needs to understand the potential of human and to relate it scientifically to the machine is no less than an art.
How AI works?
AI system comes to our aid while making important judgement calls. Computers can never match the human brain when it comes to judgement making calls, but with AI the computers can be trained to think like human brain.
A computer power-packed with AI system can learn from case-to-case experience. It can not only recognize the complexity and volume of data, but also take important and wise deciding calls as per the human intelligence, knowledge and rational reasoning power.
AI Research
AI Research has reached a new milestone by introducing AI system in fields from gaming to medicine.
The research has not only studied the human behavior and its complexities and the extent of problems faced in day-to-day life, but also the behavioral patterns, which are not present to handle things effectively.
Many studies have correlated the ought-to-be behavior of humans with the advanced programs for AI Computers.
Speaking of all this in 2010 is not at all surprising, but even thinking of such systems in 1947 surely must have been. Alan Turing gave a lecture on AI, which led the researchers to conduct researches and studies.
With development in technology and importance gained by computers in the past few decades, importance of AI has multiplied.
